Bio
Dr. Theoharis K. Papageorgiou was born in Athens. He is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist, specializing in Infertility - In Vitro Fertilisation and Advanced Gynecological Surgery including Laparoscopic Surgery. Dr. Theoharis K. Papageorgiou obtained his medical degree from the School of Medicine of the University of Athens. Additionally, after serving his military service, he was awarded and recognized as a professor at the University of Athens. Furthermore, Dr. Theoharis K. Papageorgiou specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Paris with an official appointment by the French State as a Specialist (Interne des Hôpitaux) in Paris Hospitals (Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the Montmorency Hospital, Paris & Gynecology and Gynecology of Paris). Additionally, In the last Hospital, he worked as Curator B.
After obtaining his specialty, Dr. Theoharis K. Papageorgiou specialized in the United States of America in the Field of Infertility–In Vitro Fertilization– Reproductive Endocrinology (Reproductive Endocrinology–In Vitro Fertilization, IVF), with an official appointment by the Federal Government as an International Fellow, at the world-renowned (N.I.H.), National Navy Medical Center (NNMC), Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC), Uniformed University of Health Sciences, (UUHS), Bethesda, Washington, United States.
Dr. Theoharis K. Papageorgiou has also worked as Curator B, focusing on Infertility and In vitro Fertilization at the famous University Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the Cochin Hospital in Paris (Université Paris V – René Descartes, Paris). He then stayed for a year and a half at the Oscar Lambret University Cancer Center (Université de Lille), in Lille, France, where he worked in the Department of Advanced Surgery-Gynecology, Gynecology; Oncology and Laparoscopic Surgery (Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery) and then he moved on to work as Curator A' (Practician Hospitaller) at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the René Dubos de Pontoise Hospital, in Paris.
During his more than 10-year stay abroad, Dr. Theoharis K. Papageorgiou participated both at the clinical level in the entire range of activities of the hospitals where he worked, as well as at the research level, publishing papers in internationally recognized journals as well as announcements at International and Greek conferences. In 2003 he was elected Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Athens at the Alexandra Hospital. There he worked at the 1st Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the University of Athens where he dealt with the entire spectrum of Obstetrics and Gynecology and participated in the scientific work of the Department as well as in the research activities of the Clinic. Dr. Theoharis K. Papageorgiou is a member of 2 Greek Scientific Societies and 11 International Scientific Societies.
