Dr. Med George Stergiou graduated from the Cantonal School in Zurich and studied Dentistry at the University of Zurich. When Dr. Med George Stergiou graduated from the University of Zurich, he wrote his first doctoral thesis under the direction of Prof. Felix Lutz. Furthermore, after working for a short period as a dentist, he continued his studies in medicine, which he completed in 1999 and he started his first residency at the Institute of Neuroradiology at the University Hospital, Zurich under Prof. A. Valavanis. Dr. Med George Stergiou completed his residency in basic surgical training in Trauma and Visceral surgery at the Regional Hospital, Lachen.  In addition to that, the specialist training for Maxillofacial surgeons was completed at the University Hospital, Zurich from where later on Dr. Med Stergiou worked as an Associate Professor and wrote his second doctoral thesis under the direction of Prof. Klaus Grätz.

Additionally, Dr. Med George Stergiou is also a member of many associations such as Swiss Medical Association (FMH), Medical Association of the Canton of Zurich, Medical Association of Canton Schwyz, Swiss Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, German Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, Rhinoplasty Society of Europe, European Society for Cranio Maxillofacial Surgery, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
